Head of Strategy, Transformation, & Chief of Staff Office at multiple financial companies including Capital One Financial Corporation, E*TRADE Financial, BBVA (Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria), and USAA Bank (United Services Automobile Association).
Carolyn Veizaga led Executive Operating Teams in the management and execution of strategic initiatives, organizational development, governance oversight, project portfolio, and simplification improvements based on her more than 20 years of experience in project management and people leadership. Her primary focus, where she brings a wealth of expertise, is in areas such as strategic planning, budgetary oversight, departmental processes, talent management, and innovation enhancements. She is valued for providing strategic operations advice and guidance on key developments within the sector and ensuring the appropriate policy approaches are developed to meet the mission and objectives.
Carolyn has worked with management committees, boards of directors, and executives at varying levels, serving as a confidante and advisor, acting as a sounding board for ideas, and ensuring enhanced efficiency and structure across an organization. Most of her work is behind the scenes, analyzing data, mediating conflicts, and resolving challenges before or confirming the need for escalation. Carolyn is skillful at ensuring her team’s time and skills are leveraged most effectively, focusing on setting realistic objectives and appropriate preparations to provide end-to-end execution.
Professional and Community Activities
Carolyn is passionate about her community. Her leadership has led to the creation of company diversity & inclusion councils and policies, culture education events, and community belonging initiatives. Carolyn serves as a mentor for members in Women in Leadership Council, Remote Working Mothers Network. She is also committed to Teaching Entrepreneurship in Los Angeles and has served as a strategic advisor for Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity of Washington, DC. Carolyn also served as an ambassador for Human Rights Campaign and Junior Achievement of Washington, DC - all organizations focused on teaching financial literacy, coaching future generations, empowering women in their careers, and ensuring equality and human rights for all.
Personal
Carolyn and her family reside in Los Angeles, California, where they spend most of their time on soccer fields and tennis courts, chasing the best surf sunset, starring in TV/Film productions, or exploring new travel destinations together. The Veizagas are passionate about supporting the needs of their community; they support their community arts theater, animal sanctuary, youth sports venue, and currently fundraising for the construction of their local LGBTQ+ Youth Center.
